Wimmins Maintenance

So the first class went really well. Everyone cleaned up their rides so we could actually see the jockey wheels, nuts and mechs after the grime had been wiped off!

We did a chain cleaning test and found that white spirit is the best at getting them shiny and new again.

Though I should point out it was only the best of the lazy ways. if you want to be really thorough you should follow these instructions:

'Under the Radar' Alleycat

Ben put on a brilliant alleycat last night. the course was a killer and included downing cans of lager before riding up the infamous cobbled Jutland Street, a ride to whalley range to drink ouzo and a plethora of other tasks and checkpoints.

Though Bajan and Rolty were first back they had to be disqualified as they missed the penultimate checkpoint, claiming it was lost in the crease where they had folded their manifest.

Help - the spokes need a space!

Hi everyone, as some of you know we normally practise acrobalance with our lovely instructor owen at the students union, but unfortunately we're not allowed anymore-boo. Until next year when we can start up Student Bike MCR (more details in september)

But until then we really need a space to practise! It needs to be fairly large, and preferably fairly tall- we like standing on each others shoulders at the moment...If you know of somewhere that is cheapo and located central/ south manchester please let us know, email emily.crompton@stu.mmu.ac.uk or thespokes@lists.riseup.net

wimmin's maintenance classes start 18th may

Hello

Just to let you know I am starting a new maintenance course for wimmin on Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm at the Pankhurst Centre (opp A+E, MRI)

I would like to do this for free but unfortunately tools and parts cost money and also sometimes if things are free people tend not to bother turning up without notice and so stopping someone else taking their place.

So in order to secure your place you must email back and
paypal/cheque/cash 20 pounds to me for the course.

Thanks for the festival

Thanks to everyone that made this years festival so special
