Wow it's really happenning! Tomorrow is the day The Spokes bring a whole new type of bicycle fun to the streets of Manchester! Based on the alley cat races a few of us have had amazing fun competiting in, we´re changing the focus so any cyclist can realisticly compete for an amazing prize!

Share a Skill at the Bicycle Bee on Bank Holiday Monday

Through workshops, small-groups and one-on-one, you can learn about your bike’s anatomy, build a reclaimed bike, build a custom bike, teach others something about bikes, use bike tools, get help with bike fitting, learn anti-theft techniques, decorate your bike, & anything else people want to teach.

Bank Holiday Monday 1pm Platt Fields Park Boathouse

We hope you can participate by:

Oo Offering to host a workshop, or
Oo Donating / lending some bikes, parts, or tools
Oo Being involved in the workshops as a participant or volunteer

Spokes Events

So this years festival has kicked off! The spokes are hosting several events this year intent on getting more women on their bikes and enjoying it too! please see below for all the events we'll be putting on over the next month, come and get involved, there is no prior skills needed (well apart from being able to ride a bike!)

The Bike Resurrection Project was, today, judged by the people of Whalley Range against 17 other projects in our community.........I had to give a 2 minute presentation and then people voted on which project they wanted to win funding...not only did i get the funding but came FIRST!!!!

This means that from May the M16 Bike Resurrection project will be taking place.

More details to follow soon....meanwhile let me grin with glee......thanks to lyndon, kate and soph who came along to give their support and help answer questions etc.

Roller Racing Friday 26th March

On Friday 26th March after the monthly critical mass bike ride Great Northern Rollers present their first ever Roller Race.

The event starts at 7.30pm at the Lass O Gowrie Pub, Charles St. Opposite the BBC.

Just to let you know The Lass have been in touch and they accidentily
double booked the room for tonight so the film night for this month will
now be NEXT TUESDAY, 9th MARCH at 7.30pm and NOT TONIGHT.....
